Bought a new laptop with windows 10. I want to remove x and install 7 on it. Everything I find online assumes it was an upgrade and to downgrade, but that is not my example. Windows ten is the only Os installed. How practice I become rid of 10 and install vii? I have an erstwhile re-create of 7. Can I simply purchase a new fundamental lawmaking for seven?
Thanks for any input.

I'll add for a few more than details to assist you with your laptop setup: 1. Touchpad adjustments are located in Devices\Mouse & touchpad. Click on the "Additional mouse options". On my Dell laptop, this brings up a Dell Touchpad command. I believe HP has something similar to adapt the sensitivity. 2. Shutdown after v minutes: Settings are in System\Power & sleep. Adjust per your needs. 3. Cortana: It can be turned off. Please read this link: https/www.howtogeek.com/265027/how-to-disable-cortana-in-windows-10/. In the eye of the folio is a "Download Our One-Click Registry Hack". Use this to disable Cortana.
Hopefully, with some tweaks, you'll get used to your new laptop and Windows 10. Delight mail service once again if yous run across other issues. Provide the details of the issue and nosotros'll help y'all!

If it is a 7th Gen Intel forget nearly it.
If it is a 6th gen or lower you might be able to it is just a matter of finding all the drivers AND also seeing if they have a tool to inject the USB 3.0 drivers or some BIOS take the ability to turn all 3.0 slots into two.0 slot (Well-nigh OEM don't have this pick though). Otherwise you could install it VIA a DVD versus a thumb bulldoze but then you tin can utilize the mouse/keyboard to load drivers
Besides some OEM, similar Dell in the case of the PC i mainly use, yous can downgrade if 6th gen or lower to windows 7 without needed a product key and then long equally it is with a OEM windows seven disk from dell. otherwise you will have to buy a product key if you don't take one already.
In that location are a lot of reason why you lot would want to downgrade so I won't inquire why as in the Information technology world i like it I have a LOT of clients who buy make new machines only even so can only run windows 7 considering their software won't work on 10 still.

Honestly, can't stand x. Many issues, but hither's 1 that I can't effigy out. When writing in email or discussion, if I break for more iii sec, auto will either move, highlight or delete what was only written. WTF! Can't detect anyway to terminate the cursor from going to whatever it might be near. Shuts down on its own after v min. Can't go back in without password. I take disabled the deject, cortana, and other annoyances only to notice them back on. Changed updates to manual. That's back on automatic and disregards the schedule to have total control of car for hours. Knocks me off of whatever I was doing. I don't want cortana! It feels like I don't have control and someone else does.

Some of these problems don't sound similar they have anything to do with Windows 10. The cursor issue, for example, sounds more like a sensitive touchpad y'all're getting used to. Other issues, like the password nag screen that Windows 10 likes to popular upward, can exist fixed in a couple of minutes with the right settings changes.
Just regardless, hp is only offering Windows 10 drivers for your parts. So using Windows 7 is a not-starter. Given that extended back up ends in 2 one/2 years, I don't see the point.

Sad, but I don't take a solution --- I'yard asking the same question.
Surely some clever person tin can tell united states how to get rid of Windows ten, simply, and install Windows 7 Pro from a disc, simply?
Manifestly we should have washed some soul-searching most why we don't similar Windows 10. In my case information technology'due south quite simple (that give-and-take again) --- I bought a new and expensive laptop hoping that Windows 10 would be to my liking. Only information technology isn't, because it'due south likewise complicated for me. I just prefer Windows 7 Pro, to which I'm accepted and which serves me very well. But present it seems to exist a sin if you like a organisation that's (shudder!) getting old. (I bought my offset estimator in 1984 when I was aged 45 : work that one out. Just no : don't use a computer; practise information technology by mental arithmetic. 1984 minus 45 equals X; then 2018 minus X equals Y.)
Now : would some computer expert exist kind enough, in words of just a few syllables, to explicate to Kavana and me simply how to:
* remove Windows 10 from the new computer; and
* install Windows 7 on the computer from a disc? (Although I imagine what is done is to put the disc in the slot and wait for instructions.)
And there's no problem about data being lost. I've got absolutely everything on another computer, including all the books I've written, and can transfer all of that easily.
Merely no "dude", I pray. That would have me correct back to the last time I heard the word, on "My Big Fat Greek Nuptials."
In advance, I thank you, unknown skilful, for your kind and most welcome attending.
All-time wishes, Brian

Assuming your hardware still supports Windows 7 (non all newer hardware does, and a new laptop is unlikely):
Purchase a Win 7 license and install media, from a valid retailer Boot up from that which yous have purchased Become through the install, and DELETE all existing partitions Continue the install Washed.
Until early on 2020, when all security updates for Win 7 goes away, forever. (and being 45 in 1984 means y'all're non that much older than I am)

It depends on your new and expensive laptop. What brand and model is information technology? The issue is that Windows 7 drivers (the underlying software that interfaces between Windows 7 and the hardware) may not work correctly. Worst case, the new laptop may not run at all. In other cases, you may buy a new printer, camera, scanner, etc and it won't connect to the laptop. In between these extremes are other compatibility problems.
Too, note that Windows 7 is not going to be supported by Microsoft past January 2020. This means no patches or updates and leaves your laptop vulnerable to hacks and security issues. I'thousand just suggesting that you may desire to think through your Windows 7 strategy. It may cause yous a lot more issues in the time to come, than learning a little bit almost Windows 10 now.
